Baburam Das

The IndiaHelps Team has established contact with the family of Baburam Das, a resident of Bhayander East, who was killed in the Dadar Blast of 13/7.
He leaves behind his wife, a son studying in class 9 and his old mother. The Taj Trust has kindly agreed to take on the expenses related to the child's education. The family has received the Rs 5 lakhs compensation. But the wife is not working and was completely dependent on her husband's income.
Will post up needs and help required once a clearer picture emerges from subsequent conversations with the wife.

Hey,

As you might already know, I am Trustee with an NGO called Jana Rakshita that has been working with the underprivileged in India, primarily focusing on Cancer and Education. Ours is a registered Trust and we're proud to have helped more than 1100 lives since the time of our inception in the year 2004, but only with the support of you and our friends.

We have been trying to raise funds for this really tragic case of a beautiful little  2 year old boy Aarav, suffering from Liver cancer, for a couple of days now and just as I am writing this, he is being wheeled into the Operation Theater for an emergency surgery due to some recent complications he developed whilst in the ICU. His arteries have begun to leak and they're hoping to try and operate on the tumors if possible. This was unexpected and puts this case on our Top Priority. As dramatic as this may sound, we need immediate help so he can pay up for his surgeries. Dr Sachin Almel from Hinduja Hospital (Mumbai) who is treating Aarav has talked to the Hospital authorities and bought a couple of days time to pay up the bills.

Our NGO - Jana Rakshita has had many cases this month and very few donors as always. And hence we're reaching out to you, to please help us help Aarav. Please check the attached document that was written out earlier today, before the recent emergency.

More details about our NGO will soon be available on our website. Bad timing, but we had a website up all this while and just pulled it down a few days ago to put up a new one. Please stay tuned in to www.janarakshita.org for updated content and details about our NGO and our activities. Alternatively, you can also call us or drop in to meet us at our office for details. Our work and accounts are open to all.

Hoping to hear back from you as soon as possible. I also request you to pass this email on to as many people as you can.

If you have any further questions, you can contact us on the below numbers:-

PriyaDarshini, (Trustee, Jana Rakshita)

Kala Shyamsunder (President, Jana Rakshita)
 9322 881491

Raghu Kandade (Secretary, Jana Rakshita)

If you are from the US or UK and would like to donate, please send me an email and I shall get back to you with transfer details.

Thank you for your time. Please try and give this a few minutes of your time. This little boy needs us right now.

CHECK ATTACHMENT FOR DETAILS ON AARAV

Peace & Love

Rinku Vishwakarma-First contact

We read about Rinku Vishwakarma in the newspapers. Her husband,
Makeshwar Vishwakarma had been critically injured in the Kabutarkhana
blasts. She, we read, had been waiting outside the ICU at KEM
hospital, without having eaten a single morsel, with her two year old
daughter for the past two days. We requested a Midday reporter to pass
her our contact details in the event that she needed any help. A day
went by with no call. Yesterday, we got a call from her. Her daughter
was running a high fever, and she sent her back to her neighbours in
Sion to be cared. Her inlaws have come down from UP to be with her in
these times. She needed some financial help, and India Helps sent
across a small amount to tide her over these few days in the hospital
and for her daughter's medicines. Parul Sharma of the IH team will be
coordinating this case, and we will be doing a follow up visit soon.
If anyone would like to help her, please do get in touch. Right now,
as we see it, the wait is for her husband to recover, and then do a
needs assessment. Will keep you posted. Watch this space.
